The Ups & Downs of Puberty: This preview program allows parents and educators the opportunity to view and ask questions about the puberty and human growth classes prior to their child's field trip to the Kansas Learning Center. $25 fee plus mileage.
The Horse and Buggy Doctor: The Horse and Buggy Doctor is a vital part of medicine's past. This program reminds us of the hardships and heroics of the small town doctor through the use of slide and video stories. Adults will especially enjoy the experiences of Doctor Arthur E. Hertzler, author of the book-of- the-month club book The Horse and Buggy Doctor. Sharing your own experiences of house calls and doctor visits is an interesting addition to this personalized program.
Health and Wellness for Adults: Hand held models, activities, and video clips help adults gain a better understanding of their own bodies and how they function. The complexities of the human body are explored with a variety of visually stimulating exhibits, allowing adults to learn how these body systems perform together - keeping our bodies in top working order.
Growing Older - Gracefully: As the human body ages, many things change. This program explores some of the more common changes of aging. A healthy diet, moderate exercise and a positive attitude toward life can help all adults age gracefully.
The Right Stuff: Eating for Health: Much attention is being paid to the nutritional benefits of our diet. This program will explore the positive and negative effects of various foods on the adult body. Activities and experiments will keep all adults involved in this interactive presentation.
